    Concrete base requirements

  • 28 days curing minimum required.
  • Compressive strength : 20 N/mm2.
  • Residual moisture < 5%
  • An impermeable membrane between PCC & RCC
  • The surface should be even and undulations are in the range of  2mm in length of 4 meters.

Hydro static moisture

Hydrostatic pressure is caused by moisture being present underneath the concrete slab, i.e. in the subsoil. As moisture rises, it dissolves salts in the concrete becomes alkaline, with brownish look. The vapour pressure is higher than the adhesive strength of the polymer system and thus the vapour forces its way to the top, thus causing blisters. The results from hydrostatic pressure do not constitute product failure.

Surface Preparation

Proper surface preparation shall include the following :

  • Inspection of the concrete substrate.
  • Removal and replacement of non-durable concrete (laitance).
  • Creation of surface profile.
  • Repair of surface irregularities.

Surface profile

Creation of surface profile is achieved by employing various surface preparation equipments such as shot blasting equipments, grinders, scarifiers, scabblers, high pressure water jetting etc. The concrete surface profile (CSP) is the measure of the average distance from the peaks of the surface to the valleys and is expressed as a concrete surface profile number (CSP 1-9) as per ICRI technical guideline No: 310.2 (formerly 03732). CSP 6,7,8 or 9 is needed for higher thickness floor coatings and CSP 3, 4 or 5 is needed for low thickness floor coatings.

Scope of work

Surface preparation shall be done by abrading the surface using machines having diamond cutting grinders. This shall create surface profile of 100 microns which shall provide mechanical key for adhesion. Subsequently the surface shall be made dust-free. Any loose floor will be removed and repair at extra charges with Epoxy repair mortar.

Purpose of Work

To provide a monolithic, seamless floor topping of Epoxy Self leveling as in standard colour shade.

Water, electricity, storage facility, lighting, electrical point near to the working place etc., are to be provided at site.

    We need:

  • C (clean, free from oil/water contamination), dry & solid surface.
  • Storage space for material and tools-n-tackles with lock-n-key arrangement
  • Free water and electric supply at site
  • Permission to work in all shifts as per requirement

Top Coat : Color code should be mentioned in the order.

Warranty : One year Corporate Warranty as per the standard terms from the date of Completion of Job.

After Sales Service & Support: Our authorized dealer cum applicators are locally available for after sales support and services,

OTHER IMPORTANT POINTS : VSAM will provide Quality Assurance Certificates , MSDS for the products supplied. Applicator will arrange moisture meter and will check the floor moisture before start of work and when required at site.

Material will be deliver with In 10 day after receiving PO , advance and proper documents

Work completion :

DO’S AND DON'T’S ON EPU, FLOOR TOPPING FOR WARRANTY

  • Use recommended material only for floor painting.
  • Floor should be cleaned with dilute standard industrial detergent.
  • Mop the floor using rubber or nylon broom repeatedly in a day with clean water after sweeping the dust
  • Do not allow water to stagnate on the floor.
  • Any Bubble come out will be under warranty.
  • Clean and wipe the floor with dry cloth and allow the floor to dry.
  • Do not spill acid or any alkaline material on the floor.
  • Avoid oil spillage on the floor for ensuring safety.
  • Do not hammer anything by placing it on the floor.
  • Do not drag heavy machinery / vehicles on the stand , on the floor.
  • Do not use trolleys with steel / iron castors on the floor.
  • Do not drag work benches on the floor.
  • Use rubber mats below the work bench legs.
  • Do not keep dismantled components on the floor.
  • Do not heat any substance on the floor.
  • Avoid sand spillage as this may act as an abrasive material.
  • No point load should be applied on the floor.
  • Do not use shoes/ chapels with metal spikes / plates / nails in the sole.
  • In case of chip off or abrasion contact the respective dealer / supplier at the early stage.
